Getting There

Cyril E. King Airport (STT) on St. Thomas and Henry E. Rohlsen (STX) on St. Croix. NO PASSPORT for US citizens! Direct flights from US mainland.

Currency & Language

US Dollar (USD). English is official language. Drive on the LEFT side of the road (US cars with left steering wheel).

Getting Around

Car rentals recommended. Taxis available. Ferry between St. Thomas and St. John. Seaplane between islands.

No passport needed for US citizens but bring photo ID—you'll still go through customs!
St. John has limited accommodations—book well in advance, especially during peak season.
Driving on the left takes adjustment—rental companies provide reminders and tips.
Trunk Bay charges a $5 amenity fee (ages 16+), card or mobile payment only since October 1, 2026, or buy it ahead on Recreation.gov. The underwater snorkel trail is worth every penny.
Skip St. Thomas on cruise ship days—attractions get crowded quickly.
